Canim Lake Band Social Development program offers the following to clients who live on reserve:

Support for families who are either at risk of their children being apprehended or have had their children removed by a child protection agency. Canim Lake Band is a member of the Knucwentwecw Society Northern Shuswap Child & Family Services, delegated agency.

Social Services Goals:

  1. Establish all social support programs under one department
  2. Develop evaluation criteria for all social services' programs to allow for the continuous improvement of programs
  3. Increase support programs to reduce the number of children in care
  4. Reduce poverty and reliance on income assistance
