Total Student Months Available

There are three (3) levels of program study that are eligible for Post- Secondary Education Program funding with a specified number of available months of sponsorship. Applicant's enrolment plans must correspond to one of the following three (3) levels:

Bachelors' Degree - 40 months
Master's Degree - 24 months
Doctorate (PhD) - 24 months

The total months used by a student are calculated by the number of months that they have received of full time status funding.

Letter of application to Education Administrator
Deadline: February 28th

Apply to the college/university of your choice
3.
Band Council will review the applications and tentatively approve them depending on availability of funds.

General Information

The Canim Lake Band Post-Secondary Education Assistance Program is designed to assist Band Members to acquire university and professional qualifications so that they become economically self-sufficient. The program provides financial assistance to those accepted by accredited Universities and Colleges or Apprenticeship Programs.

Types of Support
Full Time Status
A student that is considered as having full time status is a student who has the following:

Minimum three courses or nine credits
Full training allowance, travel, special shelter, tuition and textbooks

Part Time Status
A student that is considered as having part time status is a student who has the following:

Less than nine credits
Assistance is given for tuition and textbooks only
